Exploring ways of presenting existing art pieces that allows for more immersive exploration.
For this assignment I wish to look at ways I can make the stereotypical art gallery more immersive. Classical art pieces are often two dimensional and fragile, designed to be observed, not touched. But what if you could? What if you could experience The Last Supper or chose the clothes Whistler's Mother wears? What can that do for us in terms of deepening our knowledge of artistic choice and technique? Perhaps more importantly, will it provide enjoyment for a wider audience? The art world can sometimes feel quite elitist and exclusionary, but I want to look for ways to break down those barriers and create an environment that everybody can enjoy.
