Roald Dahl Children's Gallery

The Roald Dahl Children's Gallery in Aylesbury is a hands on, learn through play environment. Every item in the space is designed to be used and interacted with, and it also uses Roald Dahl's work to explore academic subjects such as science in a fun and immersive way.

What this installation has taught me:

As a child this was one of my favourite places. Mum could natter with Auntie Rachel and I could go and explore and play. I never thought of it as educational, however when I think about it now it sparked my love of Roald Dahl (and also a mild obsession with green screen technology). What I take away from this piece is that I don't need to try and teach my audience everything about the artwork whilst they're there, just inspire them to keep thinking about it and exploring it after they leave.
