What this installation has taught me:

Listening to Meakins talk so passionately about his experience of the Secret Cinema event taught me a number of things. Perhaps the most important was that the experience doesn't need to start inside the space. There appeared to be such a buzz created by being given a character and asked to create items for the event, and the immersive nature of the security checks not only acted as a boredom buster, but actually added to the experience. For my work, I think I need to consider how my audience build up to their visit and their experience whilst waiting to enter the main attraction, to help make the entire experience enjoyable.
